The National Portrait Gallery houses the largest collection of officially sanctioned United States Presidential portraits in the country. The museum also exhibits portraits of many famous Americans who shaped our country, as well as American artist’s exhibitions in all mediums throughout the year. How and Why to Adopt-A-Portrait at the National Portrait Gallery

Donors with means have a unique opportunity to adopt from a select list of works on exhibit. The museum contains over 300 portraits up for adoption for $10,000 which can be paid over a 5 year period. Remedial math reveals that this is only $2,000 a year, or $166.67 per month.
